Pinterest Pins for Resellers: How to Make Pins That Send Buyers to Your Listings
Why resellers use Pinterest, what makes a useful pin (title overlay, description, call to action) and how to write pin copy for your listings without fuss.
Most resellers think about marketplace search: getting found on eBay, Poshmark, Depop or Vinted. Pinterest is the quieter extra. It's a visual search engine where people actively look for outfits, styles and specific pieces, and a good pin can keep sending people to your listing for weeks or months.
Here's why resellers use Pinterest, what makes a pin genuinely useful, and how to make pins without turning it into a second job.
Why resellers use Pinterest
- People search with intent. Pinterest users search for things like "90s denim jacket outfit" or "cottagecore cardigan". Those are your buyers.
- Pins last. A social post fades in a day or two. Pins can keep turning up in search and feeds long after you post them.
- It's visual. Resale is visual too. Your item photos are already the right kind of content.
- It works across platforms. A pin can link to your listing wherever it lives, so one pin habit supports your whole shop.
- It's lower competition. Plenty of resellers never try it, which leaves room for those who do.
It won't replace marketplace search, but it's a useful extra channel, especially for brands, vintage and trend pieces.
What makes a useful pin
A good resale pin has three parts working together.
1. A strong image with a title overlay
Use your clearest photo: the item on a model, a hanger or a clean flat lay. Vertical images tend to suit Pinterest best. Add a short text overlay that says what it is:
- Vintage Levi's Denim Jacket – Size M
- Y2K Floral Mini Dress
- Cream Cable Knit Sweater for Autumn
Keep it big, readable on a phone and to a few words. The overlay helps people understand the pin at a glance while scrolling.
2. A helpful description
Pinterest uses your pin title and description to understand what the pin is about. Write it the way a shopper would search:
Vintage 90s Levi's denim jacket in a classic mid-blue wash. Size M, relaxed fit. Great for layering in autumn and pairing with straight leg jeans or a slip dress. Secondhand, good used condition.
Include the brand, item, size, colour, style words and a little styling context. Skip long hashtag lists and keyword stuffing.
3. A clear call to action (and the right link)
Tell people what to do next: "Shop this jacket", "See the full listing" or "Available now in my shop". Then make sure the pin links straight to the listing or your shop page, not just your homepage.
Pin ideas that work for resellers
- Single-item pins: one listing, one pin. The simplest and most direct.
- Style or outfit pins: "How to style a vintage blazer", linking to the blazer.
- Collection pins: "5 cosy knits for autumn", linking to your shop.
- Brand pins: "Vintage Ralph Lauren finds", great for buyers who search by brand.
- Seasonal pins: festival, back to school, holiday party, winter coats.
Organise your pins into boards that match how people search: Vintage Denim, Y2K Outfits, Autumn Knitwear, and so on.
Keep it light and consistent
You don't need to pin every day. A small, steady habit works better than a burst followed by silence:
- Pin new listings as you add them, or batch a few once or twice a week.
- Reuse your best photos. No extra shoot needed.
- Refresh pins for items that sell well, with a new image or overlay.
- Remove or update pins for sold items where you can, or point them to similar listings or your shop.
- Check what works. Pinterest's analytics show which pins get clicks. Do more of those.
Making pins with ListSnaps
If you already use ListSnaps to draft listings, it can write your pin copy too. Photo in. Listing out. A generated pin gives you a pin title, description, hashtags and a suggested board, plus 3–5 short text-overlay suggestions you can copy onto your own image in Canva, Pinterest or whichever editor you like. ListSnaps doesn't design the image or burn the text in for you, so you still add the overlay to your photo yourself.
Pin generation uses the same monthly generations as your listing drafts: on Free (5 a month) and Plus ($9 for 100) pins and drafts share the same pool, and Pro ($15) is unlimited. See the pricing page for details.
Once your image and copy are ready, you can post the pin to Pinterest yourself. If you'd rather skip that step, Connect is an optional way to post pins from the app straight to your Pinterest boards, and posting via Connect doesn't use an extra generation. It's not needed to generate pin copy.
One thing stays the same: your marketplace listings are still copy and paste. ListSnaps drafts the title and description, and you review and post them yourself on eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Vinted or Mercari. Start at the AI listing generator, or go straight to a marketplace, like the Poshmark or eBay listing generator.
FAQ
Is Pinterest worth it for resellers? For many, yes, especially for brand, vintage and trend items. It's a search-driven platform and pins can keep bringing in visitors long after you post them.
What should a reseller pin include? A clear vertical image, a short title overlay, a search-friendly description and a call to action, linking straight to the listing or your shop.
How often should I pin? A steady habit beats bursts. Pinning new listings as you add them, or batching a few times a week, works well.
Can I make pins on the ListSnaps Free plan? Yes. Pin generation is on every plan. On Free and Plus it uses the same monthly generations as your listing drafts, and Pro is unlimited. Each pin gives you the title, description, hashtags, a suggested board and 3–5 overlay text ideas to add to your own image.
Do I need Connect to make pins? No. Connect is an optional way to post pins straight from the app to Pinterest, and posting through it doesn't use an extra generation. You can generate pin copy without it and post the pin yourself.
Does ListSnaps make the pin image? No. It writes the pin copy and suggests 3–5 short overlay lines. You add the overlay text to your own photo in Canva, Pinterest or another editor.
Does ListSnaps post my marketplace listings? No. Marketplace listings are copy and paste. You review the draft and post it yourself.
Quick recap

Connect is an optional direct-post path that uses no extra generation. See pricing or visit ListSnaps.
